Object Description

The cottage “Troadkasten” is a several hundred years old granary and was converted into a comfortable little house. It´s situated next to the wood on our farm, 5 car-or 20 walking minutes from the station and the centre of the historical town Murau. You can also reach it without a car.
We offer you barbecue, children´s play-ground, darts, table tennis, table football and an own fishing- and swimming pond.
Right next to our farm yard are lots of hiking and walking paths and a physical fitness trail. You can enjoy the “organic”pond, an indoor-swimmingpool or you can visit the wood-museum in St.Ruprecht. Visit the sights along the” Styrian wood trail”, or do a ride on the slow steam train “Murtalbahn”. There is a cycling trail along the Mur. Maybe you prefer horse riding or fishing in our pond.
Wintersports you can do on our 7 skiing mountains not far from where we live, “Frauenalpe” and “Kreischberg” are 5 km away.
Our “Troadkasten” has an inviting rural kitchen with big corner seating unit, all made of wood. It´s completely furnished with little kitchen, kitchen utensils, TV-set and radio. Upstairs you get to a sleeping room with 2 beds and a convertible sofa for 1 or 2 persons. (Please take bed-clothes or sleeping bags with you, if possible). Washbasin and WC are in the cottage. Shower facilities and more place to sleep we offer in the farm house.
Home-made products you can get at the Bio-farm. Rolls are delivered in the peak season.

The cottage is on our organic farm, is surrounded by forests and meadows and is located in a quiet location. 1.5 km to the station.

Getting there

Coming from Germany take the motorway to Salzburg, then the "Tauern" motorway to exit at St. Michael, drive in the direction Tamsweg- Murau.
Drive to Murau station,- cross the rails – turn right after 150m – direction “Frauenalpe"
Pass the place Schlatting about 1,5 km from the station you´ll find on the right side our sign “Urlaub am Bauernhof" and the driveway leading to our farm house and “Troadkasten”.

Hiking, biking, fishing, tennis, golf, horseback riding and much more.
Winter sports enthusiasts can enjoy the variety of slopes of the surrounding seven Murtaler ski mountains, downhill run with sufficient snow to the hut. From the hut you can run directly to the ski tour to the Frauenalmgipfel. Frauenalpe and Kreischberg are located 5 km.
