Object Description

The Praia do Cabeço (officially Praia Grossa) is one of the last original beaches at the South Brazilian coast - which makes further comments unnecessary - and belongs to the city of Itapema, 60 km away from the island and capital Florianopolis.
The beach is a private property and consists of a beach with an extension of 563 meters and 600,000 square meter total area. Contrary to the neighbor beaches, the Praia do Cabeço was kept original - with the original Fauna and Flora typical of the coastal rain forest.
The Praia do Cabeço is located in the neighbor beach of the plants of the Hotel Plaza Itapema and its small boat port, which is embedded in a peninsula. From the Cabeço beach one has also a beautiful view of the opposite bay of Itapema (beaches: Porto Belo, Araçá, Estaleiro, etc). The sea water is clean and clear. With wind stillness one has a very good view to snorkel; there is even a small coral reef community. Because the beach is a private property, one can enjoy the pure nature in an exclusive and individual way.

In order to preserve the beach, the terraced house consisting of 10 units was built 300 m away from the seashore, on a slope, which makes a unique view possible of the Itapema Bay.
The house with two floors has 95qm and consists of one balcony, one terrace, one small backyard with garage, two bedrooms (one of it with balcony and sea view), living room, kitchen and two bathrooms (both with shower). The house is simple, offers however the convenience that one mostly wishes oneself during a stay at the beach.
The house unit 4, which can be rented the whole year, is suitable for the stay of four guests (can accommodate until 6 guests). In one of the bedrooms there are two single beds and in the other one a double one (of course with the appropriate bed linen); the kitchen is completely equipped. The caretaker lives with his family in the vicinity of the house and can be called for help each time, day and night.

At the neighbor beach of the Praia do Cabeço you will see the Hotel Plaza Itapema (two picture above), which disposes of a very beautiful private beach and a pictorial peninsula (visible from the Cabeço) with a small boat port enclosed. All hotel facilities, such as the entrance to the bars, access to the port and to the peninsula, and the rental of jet skis etc, are at the disposal of the day visitors..

The city of Itapema is 12 km away from Balneario Camboriu and 60 from Florianópolis (state capital). The city is the third biggest city in Santa Catarina State in terms of number of tourists. That has to owe the innumerable natural attractions and the favorable situation of Itapema Bay.
Itapema has altogether seven km coast, which is pretty much suitable for bathing. The building regulation of the city limits the overall height of the buildings. This leads to the fact that sun is ensured on the broad sand beaches during all day; also the water temperatures are very pleasant.

Getting there

With the airplane: Most Brazilian airlines offer direct flights from Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo to Navegantes (30 km from Itapema) and to Florianópolis (60 km from Itapema). From the airports Florianópolis or Navegantes one drives straight through the highway BR-101 to Itapema.
With the car: On the highway BR-101, at the coast along. The roadways were doubled and modernized since a few years. You will enjoy a fantastic sea panorama before arriving in Itapema.

Sport, Activities and Attractions

Costa Esmeralda (Itapema, Porto Belo and Bombinhas):
The green color sea gives the name to this region. More than 30 beaches make up this coast; many of them with crystal-clear water and therefore very suitable for diving. Because the Costa Esmeralda lies in the proximity of the protected area of the archipelago Arvoredo, it is extensively visited by Brazilian divers almost the whole year.

The archipelago Arvoredo:
The maritime reservation is located at „the biological border “, the meeting place between warm waters of Brazil and the cool water streams coming up from the Falkland Islands. Therefore one can observe here both the various tropical undersea fauna and the animal species from the Antarctic, like whales and penguins.

The city Florianópolis:
Florianópolis, the touristy capital of Santa Catarina State (400,000 inhabitants), has became famous not only because of their unusual geographical outline, made up by mainland and island (Ilha de Santa Catarina), but also because the city offers a large variety of landscapes on its 450 square km surface. There are 42 beaches, many of mountains, lakes, moorlands, dunes and small islands. In addition to that, Florianopolis also offers an urban character and lots of nightlife entertainment options.
