The Big Creek Lodge is a great place to visit, in every season you can search for pure nature and canadian wilderness, an incredible view of forests, water and mountains. Big Creek Lodge is located in the middle of the Chilcotins, in the heartland of British Columbia, West Canada. The lodge was built from white cedar, which is canadian tradition. Together with the surrounding wilderness the lodge is something really special for people of every age. We offer many different and exciting activities, like hiking, photo-safari, trail riding, ranch riding, cattle drive, round up, gold panning, atv tours, snowmobile tours, cross coutry skiing, fishing,... All Cabins and most of the lodge's rooms are with balcony or porch. Just a small step thru the big glass doors, which are almost in every room, and you can see more than a million hektar of mountains and wilderness. The common room of the lodge with a large fireplace has an area of 300 m2. All cabins have a cozy living room. Official 4 * star rating.

Bedrooms / bathrooms:

The lodge accommodates ten guests in five very comfortable rooms. All rooms have a cozy interior, floor heating, and a private bathroom with a hot shower. There is a roomy lounge and a dining area warmed by a massive stone fire place.
The cabins are nestled among the trees lining the Big Creek, giving you a feeling of remoteness and comfort at the same time. There are two bedrooms for 4 guests or a family with kids, as well as a private bathroom and a well equipped livingroom in every cabin. From the porches of the cabins, where comfortable seats surround a massive table, you overlook the creek and the breathtaking wilderness.

Kitchen:

Our homestyle country kitchen serves you breakfast, lunch and dinner in a relaxed atmosphere. Hearty lunches are packed for fishing expeditions, trail rides, snowmobile tours, and other activities of your choice.

Outside:

The river "Big Creek" flows directly from the lodge. From the wraparound porch with deck overlooking the possibility of going to the snow-capped mountains of the Coast Mountains.

Location and surroundings:

The Big Creek Lodge is located south of the small community of Big Creek, British Columbia, about 25 km (16 miles) north of the Coast Mountains. The Chlicotins vast and beautiful landscape is only dotted by a few gravel roads making access limited and keeping the land almost untouched by man. These roads are used by the local ranches that make up the community of Big Creek.
Ranch life hasn't changed much in the last few hundred years with the cowboy still being the most important person on the place. The cowboy's life is based around the ranch and livestock and takes a full days work to keep the place running. The job starts early in the morning and doesn't finish till all the work has been done; whether it's feeding the animals, moving cattle, breaking in young horses or fixing the fences.
The Big Creek Provincial Park begins 10 km (6 miles) south of the Lodge and stretches itself nearly 40 km (25 miles) up into the Coast Mountains. The Big Creek Lodge, like most ranches in Big Creek, helped the community to push for the creation of this Provincial Park in order to keep the local lumber companies from destroying this pristine environment.

Getting there

Air: Vancouver to Williams Lake - and we are pleased to pick you up
Land: Vancouver to Williams Lake, west on Highway #20, in Riske Creek turn left drive on Forestry Road #2000, via Farewell Canyon. Our first "Big Creek Lodge" sign on the road in Big Creek on main road.
You also may drive via historical Lee's Corner. There are signs in Hanceville on Highway #20 to Big Creek and to the Big Creek Lodge all along the road.
Bus: If you like a Greyhound ride along the old Gold Rush Route and you will enjoy a lot of scenery up the Fraser River Canyon.
