Object Description

The accommodation "Studios Ktirakia" is located in one of the most scenic areas of the Peloponnese, in a remote, rural and absolute quiet area on a hill in the district Mavrovouni surrounded by olive groves and only minutes away from the picturesque fishing village Gythio as well as from the beach.
"Ktirakia" are two wooden houses divided in 4 residential units in maisonette style: Each studio is just under 40m² in size, furnished for 4 persons with attention to detail, tastefully, comfortably and functionally. The houses are situated in a spacious area with a variety of trees, shrubs and flowers. Here's rural idyll and absolute peace - a beautiful paradise to wind down with a beautiful view onto the sea of the Bay of Mavrovouni.

The two wooden houses of KTIRAKIA are situated on a unique picturesque hillcock of 8 acres and surrounded by green countryside with a magnificent view onto the sea of Mavrovouni bay.
To the closer environment belongs the pictorial port and small fisher-town Gythio in approx. three kilometers distance. There are many shops as well as nice taverns and "cafenions". The town has kept still its Greek originalness as well as the remaining surrounding village.

Description of the Equipment:
The ground floor of each of almost 40m² Studios has a fitted kitchen carefully equipped and with 2 hotplates, sink with 2 bowls and mixer tap, fridge, coffee maker, (toaster on request. Opposite vis-a-vis a dining place for four people and two comfortable single beds (of 90 x 200 cm each), positioned on the corner.
Beside that there is a bright bathroom of 3 m² with shower cabin, washbasin and a toilet.
A wooden stairway leads to the cozy attic floor with a small clothespress, a French double bed (150 x 200 cm) and a hallstand under the wooden roof slope. A baby bed is available on request and finds its space on the upper sleeping gallery.
Every studio has its air conditioning and a spacious veranda with awning and seating furniture towards the sea side. An additional fixed roofed veranda with table and chairss is located in the entrance area of the studios towards the country side.
For parking its car each guest has its space in front of the entrance of his studio.
Available are also many paraphernalia like dish soap, crockery swam and many others till drinking straws.
There is also a wireless LAN high speed Internet access from any point of the resort. And in the reception is also a multifunction device in wireless LAN operation, with which it is possible from the guest's own laptop to print, fax and scan.
Last but not least there is in each apartment a mini hi-fi system with radio, CD-/MP3-player and with a USB port for memory sticks. TV, there are none!
With its cosiness and functionality the studios are more than a pure accommodation.

Location and surroundings:

The " Locus amoenus " KTIRAKIA is situated in the middle south of the greek peninsula Peloponnes, belonged to Mavrovouni near Gythion.
The nearest possiblity for swimming is the sea of Mavrovouni-beach, receivable by car in mostly five, by foot in approx. 15 minutes. The beach is from sand, has a length of approximately 5 kilometers, the sea water is wonderful clean and clear. Numerous small bays, partly with crystal and partly with thick pebbles, contribute at different distances an alternation.
Numerous other beaches, some with crystal sand, some with thick pebbles contribute in varying distance to a diversity. Especially beautiful is the beach of the bay of Skoutari with its shimmering turquoise green, and shallow water. There needs to drive about 30 minutes.

Getting there

To recommend is the journey to Greece by airplane to Athens and to go on by a rented car, that is cheaper to rent from your country than here in Greece. The flight time is approx. 2.5 until 3 hours starting from middle Europe, respectively in a direct flight. The journey of the approx. 300 km route from the airport to Gythio is about 3.5 to 4 hours with about half of it as a motorway and a partial expressway, and in addition a well-developed highway.
Its also possible to make all the journey to Greece by car using one of the many different ferries starting in Italy. Daily ship routes are alternatively starting from Venice with approx. 37 hours as well as from Ancona with approx. 21 hours passage duration - in each case to Patras as arrival port. Also from Patras as well as from Athens it needs approx. 3,5 until 4 hours travel time over Tripoli and Sparta to Gythion.
