Castello di Querceto is found tucked away in the green Tuscan hillside. It is a place of great tranquility at only 30 minutes from the Etruscan shoreline with fresh air for a relaxing stay. La Bandita is 330 metres above sea level in Cecina Valley at the same altitude as Volterra. If you're looking for sunshine, sandy beaches, cultural activities and relaxing rest, La Bandita with its B&B plus restaurant is the place for you. La Bandita represents an ideal point of departure for diverse itineraries: castles, palazzi, and roman churches are all found in the surrounding area.

La Bandita has B&B rooms available with 2, 3 or 4 beds. All rooms are spacious, with mediterranean charm, and each with their own shower and bathroom.

La Bandita Restaurant serves Wild Game and homemade certified Organic Products
Our restaurant is rustic, home to a large fireplace, and makes for an ideal setting for sipping on wine and having elegant dining experiences.
Our specialties include:

    * grilled specialties of our own organic production
We also serve an optimum olive oil which we make ourselves. The restaurant has an occupancy of 50 and we also offer large group meals and family parties.

La Bandita Organic Farm… Organic and biodynamic farming in Tuscany
Traditional farming practices of the Erb family, Petra and Mathias (originally from Bolzano) have been passed down from generation to generation. In the beginning even our grandparents cultivated very famous fruit orchards (particularly apples) in northern Italy. All fruits and vegetables used and consumed at La Bandita are cultivated and grown according to organic and biodynamic practice.
Our organic produce includes things like:
    * seasonale vegetables
    * olive oil
    * wine (2007 year from grapes planted in 2005)
    * fruit (cherries, apricots, strawberries,and peaches)
Biodynamic farming.
Two words that imply everyway we should live. Observing and working the earth. The idea is to let nature do what it knows how to do best, while at the same time helping the earth naturally maintain a high level of fertility and in turn making high quality produce that give us nourishment and health. Cultivating biodyanmically does not incorporate a specific mechanical means and it deals with believing in different way of life, way of thinking and way reacting. We can learn new ways to confront problems that the earth faces according to varying conditions.
The three main principles of Bioynamic Farming are:
    * maintaining fertility of the earth
    * keep the plants healthy- in such a way that they are able to ressit disease and parasites
    * produce the highest quality products possible.

On a hill of 330 m of Bioferienhof surrounded by olive groves with magnificent panoramic views over the Cecina Valley in absolutely quiet location.

Getting there

Exit off the A1 and go in the direction of Livorno. Just before Livorno jump on to the freeway in the direction of Rosignano Marittimo/Cecina. Get off at the Cecina Centro exit and look for N68 towards Volterra. Follow this until you reach Ponteginori. Then turn right towards Querceto. Once in Querceto continue for about 3 km to La Bandita Agritourism.

Sport, Activities and Attractions

Hiking or mountain biking right from home or on the site of the holiday farm. Public swimming pool 7 km away. 30 min. Coast of the Etruscans to the beach beautiful sandy beach where sections also allow dogs. Horse riding treks, surfing, diving, sailing, riding 10km away. Volterra 20 km, Pisa 60 km, the smaller the proximity places are worth seeing.
