Surrounded by an elliptical walls medieval town is situated on a hill in the Val di Chiana, between Arezzo and Siena. Lucignano is Etruscan-Roman origin. Its streets are concentric around the center with the collegiate church of S. Michele 16 Century and the town hall built around. The City Hall also housed the town museum, which boasts a remarkable collection of Tuscan painting. Among them is a Madonna and Child by Luca Signorelli, an impressive Crucifixion and a precious golden reliquary of the tree of hl. Francis depicts - the symbol of Lucignano.
