The Bavaria Bed & Breakfast Hotel is a small, charming hotel only 7 minutes drive from the centre of Auckland. Our accommodation establishment is situated on the western side of an extinct volcano in the heart of Mt. Eden, one of Auckland's more picturesque, traditional suburbs, on the periphery of the business centre of Auckland.
With only 11 guest rooms in our Bed and Breakfast Hotel we assure warm, friendly and generous hospitality, offering quality B&B accommodation with all modern amenities, including free wireless internet and guest PC in lounge.
Our 100-year-old kauri villa has been converted to a Bed & Breakfast in 1990 and recently completely redecorated and refurbished with native timber furniture. The large, sunny guest lounge of our hotel leads on to a private deck in a small exotic garden.
The owners of this Bed and Breakfast accommodation, Ulrike Stephan and Rudi Schmidt, and staff are happy to assist you in making plans to explore the surrounding highlights of Auckland City.

Location and surroundings: | Nearby Auckland attractions include: Eden Village, Eden Gardens, Auckland Domain and Auckland Zoo. In walking distance from our bed & breakfast is Eden Park which is Auckland's main rugby stadium. From the top of Mt. Eden get panoramic views of the centre of Auckland and the Auckland Harbour. Enjoy some of Auckland's best cuisine along Dominion Road and Mt. Eden Road. Auckland sightseeing tour companies will pick you up from the doorstep of our accommodation.

Getting there | >From the Airport
Take motorway No. 20 into the city.
Take DOMINION ROAD exit and turn right into DOMINION ROAD.
Travel approximately 2.5 km until you come to VALLEY ROAD intersection.
Turn right into VALLEY ROAD, we are number 83 on left hand side.
>From Queen Street
Travel to the uphill (South) end of QUEEN STREET. Cross Karangahape Road
(K-Road) into UPPER QUEEN STREET. Immediately after the over bridge turn right into
McKINNON LINK. This road becomes DOMINION ROAD.
At the second set of traffic lights turn left into VALLEY ROAD.
BAVARIA B&B is on the left side.
>From the Motorway
>From the NORTH use the GILLIES AVE off-ramp, turn right into GILLIES AVE.
At next intersection turn right into OWENS ROAD. At next set of lights turn right into MT. EDEN ROAD.
The first on the left is VALLEY ROAD. BAVARIA B&B is on the right after the sharp left bend.
>From the SOUTH use GREENLANE ROAD exit, turn left into GREENLANE ROAD,
stay on this road for approximately 4 km, then turn right into MT. EDEN ROAD.
Immediately after the Mt. Eden shopping village turn left into VALLEY ROAD, Valley
Road turns sharply to the left, BAVARIA B&B is on the right after the bend. |
Sport, Activities and Attractions | Excellent shopping and dining is within walking distance. In the city, opposite the Visitor's Centre in Queen Street, take buses with numbers starting with 25 or 26. At the airport, use a mini-shuttle bus, which will drop you off at our door-step.
