Shangrela Beach Resort is located in Ambalangoda, a small village about 15 minutes by car to the famous tourist place Hikkaduwa. It is situated in quiet surroundings and is next to the Indian Ocean. There is also a lovely island of rocks, about 10 minutes by boat away.
As you can see Ambalangoda offers - for example with a moonstone mine, many masks carvings and a batik manufacture - a quite nice variety. Near to Shangrela Beach Resort you can visit the centre for traditional dance, many markets, a typical fishing port and the town centre with shopping facilities. You can find there connections to the bus & train but also pharmacies and doctors. 15 minutes by car away there is Hikkaduwa attractive for tourists because of its discotheques and coral reefs.
